Elders Reach Out to Those Giving Care

The Elders’ H.O.O. Fund (“Help Our Own”) is our innovative way to do something that churches have been doing since churches began: sharing with generosity. In large part, the Fund does this through gifts of emergency help for members facing sudden need. But we also recognize that there are people who provide caregiving. members who care for family, or people who care for members. As a way of saying “Thank you” to these caregivers, we have sent gifts. These are not charity and they are not subsidies. These gifts represent our gratitude for what can be difficult service, even when that service is given with joy.

And if you wish to take part in this thanksgiving, there are things you can do. You can always offer prayer and encouragement. You can visit these members, both those shut in and those offering care. Or you can offer respite for a caregiver. And you can contribute to the H.O.O. Fund with a designated offering by check or by the Givelify app. Your Elders are excited by this ministry. You’re invited to be a part
