The CROP Walk is an annual event to raise funds to end hunger worldwide and right here at home. Read more to find out information, including how to join the team or make donations.
Dear church friends. I just made a contribution to support our church team’s efforts in the CROP Walk to End Hunger in Homewood on May . I’ve supported CROP walks around the country for decades, and I’m sorry Koni and I can’t be there to take part in this one. But here’s the thing: There’s still time to make a contribution. Actually there’s a couple of ways.
1) You can join the team! There are few things in life more exciting than to be in the company of Christians who work and walk to fight hunger. How can you join? Go to this website, click on the button that says “Join the Team.” Enter your information and you’re set. Enjoy your walk.
2) You can donate through the CROP Walk website. It’s the same link,: but this time you click on the “Make a Donation” button. Give them your credit card or Paypal info. (The page will ask for a little bit extra to cover credit card costs, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to.) You can contribute anonymously. Send the information and bravo! Not only have you worked to end hunger, you’ve supported your church’s team! Congratulations! (A word of advice: the webpage has not worked on my computer, but it did when I used my phone instead. If it won’t work one way, try another.)
3) It is actually possible to do this on our regular Givelify app. Make a donation. Specify that it goes to the CROP Walk. And look at that! You’ve given a gift to fight hunger around the world and around the South Suburbs! And you can do this anytime, not just at the Walk.
Friends, Church World Service does a tremendous job of bringing emergency relief (think Week of Compassion) and offering food help (CROP Walk) in projects large and small. We support them. We encourage you to do so as well>
